Ghee 1/4 cup

Rice (Akki)2 cups
Sugar 2 cups
Greated coconut 1 1/2 cups
Pinch of salt
Cardamom 2
Water 5 cups
Cashewnuts and raisins(fried in ghee)


Soak rice for 5 hours.

Mix grated coconut, cardamonm and salt to the soaked rice.
Grind well and sieve the mixture on a clean cloth.
Take a thick bottom pan and put the mixture in it.
Put water to it and stir it continously without leaving it to settle.
Make sure there are no lumps.
When it becomes little thicker add sugar.
Mix ghee to it and stir continuosly .
Now cashewnuts and raisns can be added.
Smear ghee on a plate and pour the mixture on the plate.
Make it even and wait for it to cool.
Cut into desirable shapes.
