1 inch pieces of Bitter Guard (Hagalakaayi),

4 spoons urid dal,
2 spoons of gram dal,
2 spoons dhaniya,
1 spoon jeera,
1 spoon rasam powder,
1cup of grated coconut,
tamarind juice,
chilli powder,
5-6 spoons coconut oil,
1/2 spoon mustered seeds,
1 red chilli,
10 curry leaves,
coriander leaves.


Roast urid dal, gram dal, dhaniya and jeera.

Grind grated coconut and rasam powder together with above roasted ingredients. Keep ground ingredients aside.

Heat coconut oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and red chilli. Add bitter guard pieces,curry leaves, salt, jagerry,and tamarind juice.
Cook in a low flame for 20 minutes. Add the ground ingredients. Cook for 5 more minutes.
Garnish with coriander leaves.

PS: Tastes good with rice/chapati.
