Ingredients

Channa dal (Kadale bele) - 2 cups (soaked for 2 hours)

Onion - 2 medium finely chopped
Dill (Sabakshi soppu)- a bunch, finely chopped
Ginger - 1/2 inch
Garlic (1 pod)
Green chillis - 2
Cinnamon - very little (less than 1/4 of the stick)
Cloves (2)
Salt - to taste
Grated coconut - 1 tablespoon

Vegetable or corn oil for frying
coriender leaves to garnish




Method

Grind channa dal, ginger, garlic, green chillis, cinnamon, cloves and coconut together. Now add finely chopped onions, dill leaves, salt to the mixture and mix well.


Heat oil in the kadai and make the above mixture into small vada shapes and deep fry in the oil at medium heat.

Serve hot!
